Adopted Alumni

These are just some of the happy tortoises that we have helped find their forever homes! Everyone who has adopted from us is encouraged to send us photos of your tortoise in their new home to be featured here! Thanks!

Bonnie and Clyde were shipped all the way from Iowa to Alabama (thanks to the efforts of the foster home and the adoptive home!). They are living a warm and free-range life with many pasture friends 🙂
Had to share another photo of the home of Bonnie and Clyde with all their friends! Their interactions with others must be entertaining!
Alice is a sweet redfoot female living in Ames! She touched many lives since she had many pet-sitters and was even loose in Ames for a few months one summer! She found a new home with a dedicated beginner tortoise-keeper with a lot of potential! The new home was most excited to open their home to a pet that will be a life-long companion!
Torrence, an adorable male Russian tortoise, was adopted to a home in the Des Moines area that already had a great setup (and big!) already built. They were thinking to buy a tortoise at the pet store, but they were patient enough to adopt Torrence instead! Thank you!
Mighty Homercleze (now named Tulip) is a 15-20 year old female sulcata that was hatched at The Ark Pets and More, which was a pet shop that used to be located in Ames, Iowa. She was raised by her original owners in Iowa, but now has been adopted to a grateful family in Georgia. She will enjoy the mild winters and sunshine!
Jack is a 13+ year old sulcata who was raised in Illinois. He was adopted by his forever home in Georgia and now enjoys all the sunshine he can get!
George (aka Georgia) is a 10+ year old female sulcata. She was from Michigan and was adopted to a family in Missouri with 30+ years of tortoise keeping experience.
This big ~ 22 year old gal traveled from Michigan to Ohio to find her new home! And what a lovely enclosure!! They put so much effort into providing enrichment into this enclosure!
This 13 year old sulcata was needing a new home in Wisconsin, but thankfully found a wonderful and devoted home in Southern Illinois! I think the new owner will form such a strong bond with this tortoise because she was so excited! 🙂
Tortellini is one special girl in our area! She was up for adoption for so long, I started really worrying about being able to find her a home. Thankfully a long-time all around animal lover stepped up just in time to adopt her! She was skinny and after the new owner provided a wide variety of foods, she is quickly putting on more weight!
Bonnie lives in Illinois, and was adopted to a very knowledgeable owner who is a veterinarian and even grows her own greens!
North Star was raised in central Iowa and was adopted with a very excited family in Eastern Iowa!

Redwing, raised with North Star, and found a new home with a turtle/tortoise admiring family in Central Iowa! Both tortoises now have lots of space, all to themselves, to roam! 🙂

Michael was raised in Chicago and was adopted to a knowledgeable long-time leopard tortoise keeper in Missouri! Thanks for driving so far to pick up this lucky tortoise!
Harley and Quinn, two young redfoots from the Chicago area, were adopted by a long-time redfoot keeper! They have an amazing outdoor enclosure they will enjoy over summer months!
This male sulcata was adopted by a zoo-keeper and her family in Missouri. The new owner is very experienced in exotic animal care, and even cares for several rescue monkeys at her home. What a unique home, where your neighbors are literally monkeys!
Bowser was raised in Chicago and spent some time in Michigan. He was adopted to a family in the Chicago area.
